In his latest Watter’s World segment, Fox News correspondent Jesse Watters revisited his trip down to the beach where he asked today’s youth what Memorial Day was all about. He confirmed that many young people have as much sand between their ears as they do their toes.
When the host asked the fun-in-the-sun-ers whom America fought in the Revolutionary War, the responses were pathetic.
One woman said, “The French,” while another assumed, “China.”
“That’s a good question. I don’t know,” a young man told Watters.
“North versus South. The Confederate versus the Union,” another fellow piped back assuredly until the host reminded him of a little skirmish called the Civil War.
When asked who won the Civil War, one woman replied, “Britain” while another answered, “America and Britain and Spain, some part of Spain, and uh, uh yeah.”
As the host said in the intro, the lack of knowledge about America’s history and the sacrifices made to secure our freedom is shameful.
