Earlier this week, we reported that Navy SEAL Charles Keating IV had become the second US serviceman to be killed by ISIS. After his death, President Barack Hussein Obama disrespected the young hero’s memory in a disgusting way.
According to Mad World News, Keating was killed just outside Mosul, Iraq when 100 ISIS fighter broke through the front lines and detonated truck bombs before starting a firefight. Keating was advising Peshmerga force when he was shot during the combat.
Despite this, the Obama administration is refusing to classify Keating’s death as a “combat death,” since the president is still unwilling to classify the role of U.S. troops in Iraq as combat.
Press Secretary Josh Earnest explained Obama’s position:
“What I think is true is that Iraq and Syria are dangerous places and our men and women in uniform, who are engaged in a mission to offer training, advice and assistance to Iraqi forces that are fighting for their own country, are doing dangerous work. They are taking grave risks to protect our country. We owe them a deep debt of gratitude. Today’s incident is a vivid reminder of the risks our service members are taking and some of them, three of them now, have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. But the President has been clear, time and time again, exactly what their mission is. That mission is to support Iraqi forces on the ground who are taking the fight to ISIL on the front lines.”
Obama is only reluctant to classify operations in Iraq as “combat operations” because it would be admitting a massive failure for him. It would force Obama to admit that he ripped our troops out of Iraq too quickly, leaving a vacuum so big only a force like ISIS could fill it.
